The ancient Gokarneshwara Swamy Temple, located on the outskirts of Vivars Colony in Palakonda town, is truly a divine place. Here, devotees wait with great devotion on Mondays for the darshan of the Lord. The main feature of the Shiva Linga in this temple is that it faces the west. Usually, we see Shiva Lingas facing the east. But temples with Shiva Lingas facing the west are very rare. It is a special and sacred opportunity to be in our Palakonda. We are lucky to have it in our Palakonda.

More importantly, the presence of the Brahma Sutra on this Shiva Linga is another special feature. The legend of the place says that by seeing this Brahma Sutra, seeing Shiva facing the west and receiving blessings will give wonderful results.
